Progressive Discipline Plan

North Valleys High School Panther logo

Progressive Discipline & Behavior Expectations

Together, we the Panthers are a community where voice matters, collaboration fuels growth, and students are empowered to excel.

The purpose of progressive discipline at North Valleys High School is to teach students appropriate behaviors so they may be successful in the learning environment. Implementing specific behavioral interventions with the incorporation of our Positive Behavior Support (PBS) system, while working with parents as partners, is critical in supporting student responsibility and success.

Teachers should maintain accurate documentation as student disciplinary concerns arise.

Level 1: Warning

Warnings are given by the teacher to redirect behavior and explicitly reteach expectations. These are classroom-level interventions.

Level 2: Warning with Intervention

  • Warning documented by the teacher.
  • Level 2 Intervention (e.g., detention).
  • Parent contact required.

Level 3: Referral with Documentation

  • Referral submitted through Infinite Campus to SSO.
  • Parent contact by teacher and discipline office.
  • Consequences escalate for repeat behavior.
  • All actions documented by teacher and SSO.
